Since I've decided that teaching might not be the best career choice for me, a lot of possibilities have been realized. I told myself that I didn't want to work in retail anymore, but Apple would have to be the only company that could make me change my mind. I knew the Hillsdale store was still hiring, so I thought I'd give Apple another shot. (I had applied to the San Francisco store previously before getting hired at Macy's.) A couple days later, I got an email back with an invitation to a hiring seminar, which is probably like the one I had to go to for Macy's. To prepare myself, I started brushing up on my product knowledge and reading up on the new iPhone. (I'm definitely planning on reading that Mac OS X Leopard book I have, too - most likely won't get to all of it though.) Anyway, I'm pretty excited about that. It took me 4 years to finally get an interview. (Not that I was really trying before.) But yeah, it's taking every ounce of will power to fight the urge to show the excitement on my face. (I'm at work.) ------------- On another note, we had to take Mat to the emergency room on Saturday. He had to leave work early again. The only good thing to come out of it - finding out exactly what was wrong with Mat. (Food poisoning and gastritis hardly qualifies as deadly. Especially for how much pain he was in.) He was discharged well after midnight and we didn't actually leave the clinic until about an hour later. (That was due to the fact that we had to wait for Roy, which I'm not mad about. At least we had a ride.) Mat was stuck on liquid diet for a couple days. (That always sucks.) It's pretty easy to get sick of chicken soup, too. (Even more so when it's just the broth.) I feel like this week is going to go by so slow. I guess I shouldn't go shopping for work clothes in case I actually get the job at Apple. |
